George Adams / Bio
George
Adams has been playing guitar, singing, and writing songs since he was ten
years old. His versatile voice, which has a four-octave range, carries
all styles of music with ease. George plays acoustic and electric guitars,
piano, bass, pedal steel guitar, and harmonica. He is animated
on stage and is very in tune with his audience. Not only is he a great
musician, he can make you laugh, too! He likes to have good time when
he entertains and wants to make sure his audience does as well. He has
entertained in many different ways: As a solo guitarist and singer (in
lounges and as a strolling guitarist and balladeer), as guitarist and
lead singer in duo and trio acts and bands, or even as lead
vocalist and emcee in a Las Vegas show. Some highlights of his
career to date are as follows, in chronological order:
George was the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for
the highly acclaimed and successful country rock band "The Secrets".
They were winners of the Northeast Regional Marlboro Country Music
Talent Roundup, in May of 1987, going on to release two albums, "Lovers
In Trouble" and "Change Of Heart" on the independent record label,
Hatch Records.
In 1994 George was hand picked by Opryland USA
Productions to be the headline entertainer and emcee in "Nashville,
USA", a high energy country music show at the brand new Boomtown Hotel
and Casino in Las Vegas. This was a critically acclaimed show which ran
for six months and featured ten singers, a seven piece band, and eight
dancers.
In
2002, he was a featured entertainer for nine weeks on the cruise ship
"Royal Olympia Voyager" of the Royal Olympic Cruise Line, sailing to
Mexico, Belize, and Honduras seven days a week. He entertained
passengers both poolside and in the lounges, sometimes on piano, and
most often on guitar.
He has been the opening act, either as a soloist or
with a band, for many notable entertainers, including Vince Gill, Pam
Tillis, The Judds, Alabama, George Strait, Steve Wariner, Ricky Skaggs,
Glen Campbell, Nicolette Larson, Jo-El Sonnier, Jerry Reed, Delbert
McClinton, Porter Wagoner, Sylvia, Roger McGuinn, Jonathan Edwards, and
others.
Having lived in Nashville for many years, George has
also had the opportunity to entertain such celebrities as Larry Gatlin,
Liza Minnelli, Ivana Trump, Roger McGuinn, Carl Perkins, Lee Greenwood,
Ronnie McDowell, Tracy Lawrence, Janie Fricke, Curly Putman, Buddy
Killen, T. Graham Brown, Billy Dean, Barbara Mandrell, Jack Palance,
A.J. Foyt, Bobby Allison, Gaylord Perry, and more.
Many of these performances were at the legendary
"Stockyard Restaurant and Bullpen Lounge", a longtime Nashville
institution where George performed six nights per week for five years.
George Adams has the talent, the look, the sound, the savvy, the
drive, and the experience to entertain any group of people. He is
equally comfortable as a soloist, or with a great band, both on
land, and at sea!
